It's an Art

Growing Kiss Melons

Growing great tasting melons is much like growing grapes for fine wine. It takes a keen eye and attention to detail.

Practices

The growing process starts with soil and climate selection. It doesn’t matter how good the seeds are, without the proper climate and soil, melons will not reach their maximum flavor potential. Next, the perfect seed variety is chosen to complement the growing region.

We work with growing partners who reflect our core values.  Growers who emphasize quality, flavor, and sustainability.  Our growers are experts in their region.  From soil selection to climate and cultural practices.
Lastly, all Kiss Melons seeds are Non-GMO.

Harvesting

Harvesting is the most critical step in our flavor-driven process.  It is at the point of harvest that a melon’s true flavor potential is achieved.  Constant monitoring to ensure consistent flavor and patiently waiting for the melons to tell us when they are ready are the two cornerstones of our harvesting strategy.  Our philosophy is that Kiss melons don’t increase their sugar over time and therefore we must ensure to pick at the peak of flavor.
